Day I met you...

He still remembers the day vividly when he first met her.Clad in a bengali benarasi sari, she looked humble and unpretentious. From distance, she looked girl next door.

After initial introduction between family members,they were asked to talk to each other for a while to get to know each other better.When she sat next to him, she put the platter on the table and gently withdrew her hand .He was watching keenly.There was an aura about her that he felt instantly.When he laid his eyes on her, he could immediately infer that her name befitted her.He also could feel an instant connection with her.

Couple of minutes passed and he couldn't wait to hear her voice.He broke the ice.Clearing his throat, he introduced himself. She spoke gently and her magical voice mesmerized him with each passing minute.They spoke for about an hour.It was hard to keep track of time, it was almost as if it had stopped.And, who cares about time when you are in good company.

He could feel the spark and instant attraction towards her that could not be explained in words.They did not discuss political issues, revolution or Shakespeare.They were in their own world, happy looking at each other and getting to know each other.They spoke about each other's liking, turn-offs, what they were looking for in each other and that they both understood that as it was arranged marriage it is gonna be union of two families. He could see the clarity in her thoughts, the way she precisely chose the words to explain almost everything.

May be saying spellbound would be exaggeration, but he literally felt goosebumps  each time she spoke.For the past hour, he was apprehensive whether she will like him, will she or not  say yes to tie the knot.

He really wanted her to be his soulmate come what may.

Then they parted for the day.Before he got inside the car, he looked back, there she was standing in the balcony.

He could see a glow on her face, a contented smile , a smile that told him inside , "KAKE, HASEE TO PHASEE..."
